Eagle Regiment Family,

 

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! I loved seeing all the hard work going on with video submissions to prepare for the season.

 

We are all hard at work preparing for Band Camp 2 next week and there is A LOT happening! We will move right into learning the show's drill (movements) at Monday’s camp. We will do our last round of room selections this week, the schedule will be posted on the BAND APP. Our Seniors will take banner photos on Wednesday, and our parent volunteers will fit all students for Shako on Wednesday afternoon as well. All marching shoe orders must be submitted by Friday. Finally, we will end this week of band camp with a little bowling fun!

 

We have a parent meeting on August 1st at 6pm at Westgaldes Middle School, we will announce where it will happen in the school on Thursday.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

GIVEBACK NIGHT:

Tuesday will be our first giveback night of the season. When you order dinner from Chipotle on University Drive, be sure to mention Stoneman Douglas Marching Band and we will receive a portion of the proceeds back.












PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

If you are available for a few hours on any of the days (band camp 2 or 3) and would like to volunteer to help we could really use you. Please click on the link below to sign up for a shift. We really appreciate you!!! Our Band parents are crucial to the success of our program and every volunteer is truly appreciated and needed. It can be as simple as standing at the gate for an hour to help the security of our kids to volunteering to drive a box truck to New York for the MACY's Thanksgiving Day Parade, no matter what you do or how many times you do it please know it is vital to our organization.

Also, please remember if you are volunteering in any capacity, we need a security clearance on file. If you have not already done so, please go to the website linked below to complete the application and forward (usually received same day) your approval to Mrs. Gagne at MEPAVP@eagleregiment.com



DUES:

All dues through July should now be paid, for both MEPA and Bob Rodgers Travel. Our treasurer has been sending monthly charms statements, and payment reminders. Accounts not current will not be participating in band camp 2. Past due accounts will also impact ability to perform at games and competitions. Please keep in mind the program membership payments are necessary to book our travel plans and pay our support staff. For questions about your account please contact Mrs. Idith Kokulyansky at treasurer@eagleregiment.com.


As of today, the Follow Payments should have already been made to MEPA this season:

May 7, 2024: $220.00 Spot Deposit 

June 15, 2024: $250.00

July 15, 2024: $250.00

As of today, The Follow Payments should have already been made to BRT this season:

May 15, 2024: $225.00 Spot Deposit 

July 1, 2024: $325.00



WAYS TO PAY:

Pay by PAYPAL via CHARMS: (will be switing to CutTime in Aug) Log in to Charms and click the “Finances” icon. Scroll to the Fee Payment History page, place a check mark in the box next to the item you wish to pay, then click “Pay Fees” and proceed through the process.*Very Important: After completing your payment, click the “Return to Stoneman Douglas Marching Eagles” button to record your payment in the Charms system.

Pay by CHECK: Payable to MEPA. Place envelope labeled with students name Membership Dues in black safe in band room.

Pay by ZELLE: To pay by ZELLE app, register payment to stonemandouglasmepa@yahoo.com note student’s name.



PRE-PARTICIPATION PHYSICAL FORMS and INSURANCE CARDS:

The Pre-Participation Physical are due and requires a doctor’s signatures. If you have not completed the form, please schedule your doctor's appointment. This form is available in the "Files" section of The BAND app.

 

If you have not turned in a copy of your insurance card, please turn it into the MEPA Volunteers when you arrive at band camp 2.

 


SENIOR BANNERS:

Senior Banner pictures will be taken Wednesday, July 31, 2024, all seniors are expected to purchase a banner. These banners will be hung on the bleachers during our marching season and returned to students at our end of year banquet. The banner cost is $45, payable directly to Leigh W Photo. More details can be found on the flyer on band app. Reach out to Mrs. Campbell at MEPAPresident@eagleregiment.com with any questions.



 


MANDATORY MARCHING SHOES:

You must order this year’s marching shoes online through mybandstuff.com. We will not wear dinkles this year. Every student is required to buy shoes. The cost is $55.95, you may only order the shoes online. More details can be found on the flyer on band app. Reach out to Mrs. Gagne at MEPAVP@eagleregiment.com with any questions.

 






BOWLING NIGHT:

Saturday, Aug 3, 2024 is our annual bowling night at AMF Lanes in Margate. Every student must purchase a ticket to this event. Tickets are only on sale on the website, you may use points if you have them, we will be using a coupon code for ticket purchases. All sales close on Wednesday, July 31. ONLY students should purchase tickets, However, this is a great chance for new parents to come, hang out, and socialize with the returning parents and board members and to ask all of the questions you may have. Reach out to Mrs. Newhof at  Fundraising@eagleregiment.com with any questions.




BAND CAMP IS AT WESTGLADES MIDDLE SCHOOL

Pease use the West Parking Lot (the bus loop) for pick up and drop off. This is where students and volunteers will park.


Please remember NO STUDENTS are allowed to leave campus during the day. All lunches must be brought or dropped off.



BAND CAMP DATES

The 2024-25 Eagle Regiment Band Camp Dates are as follows:

All Camps are Mandatory in order to have a spot in the Show

BAND CAMP 1 - June 11 (Tue) - June 14 (Fri) at Westglades Middle School

BAND CAMP 2 - July 29 (Mon) - Aug 2 (Fri) at Westglades Middle School

BAND CAMP 3 - Aug 5 (Mon) - Aug 9 (Fri) at Westglades Middle School



WHAT TO BRING:

  • Lunch and Snacks

  • LARGE filled Water Jugs

  • Sunglasses, and Hat

  • Sunblock and Bug Spray

  • Extra Practice Uniform including socks

  • Chalk

  • Phone Charger


Instrument, Show Music, Stands Tunes and a Pencil are necessary every day



PRACTICE UNIFORM:

Students are required to wear White Shirt, Black Shorts and Sneakers (converse, vans and similar shoes are not acceptable) to ALL Camps and Rehearsals.
